The night was hosted by TV favourite Jonathan Ross who said he was a big fan of the event. To reach the final stage of the Eastern Hairdresser of the Year category, Terri had to produce eight photographic images that were then judged by a highly acclaimed judging panel. She then made it to the final six in her region, and scooped the winners’ trophy on the night. “Thank you so much to Mark Leeson and to all of the team, as well as everyone who has supported me. Most importantly thank you to my mum who is here with me tonight,” she said.
It is the third time Terri Kay has won Eastern Hairdresser of the Year, which has secured her a place in the elite list of Hall of Fame Members. Hairdressers that have one a category three times get entered into the exclusive Hall of Fame, which means they have been recognised as being the crème de la crème and cannot enter that category any more.
“To be placed in the Hall of Fame is my lifetime ambition. I am so passionate and dedicated to hairdressing, and this is the ultimate lifetime achievement for me. I cannot express just how thrilled I am,” said Terri.
The celebrations continued well into the next morning, with Mansfield hairdresser Terri Kay truly flying the flag for the East of England.
